Drilled Displacement Piles

Similar in nature to an Augered Cast-In-Place Pile (ACIP pile) but with some great technological improvements. The installation of these Displacement Bored Piles is by the very nature, a cleaner operation than traditional ACIP pile. By using the displacement boring technique, the in-situ soils are pushed aside by the displacement bit, thus densifying the surrounding soils. This increases the capacity of the pile by approximately 25% over a comparable ACIP pile.

An additional advantage this system has is the lack of muddy spoils generated by densifying the soils in place. This can be a great advantage in small construction sites or where the existing soils may contain contaminates that would have to be dealt with once they are brought to the surface. The displacement piles can have reinforcing steel cages inserted giving both compression and uplift resistance with typical working loads in the 100 to 150 ton range.
